CRM data in Gmail search bar results

While Gmail’s search bar is great for emails, it can become cluttered when searching for CRM details like contacts or deals. The Streak command palette improves this by integrating directly into Gmail’s search bar results.

Here’s how:

  • Your top three relevant Streak matches (boxes, contacts, or organizations) appear at the top of the search results.
  • The “More Streak results” option lets you open the full command palette for further search results and filtering.

This keeps your search focused and saves you from wading through cluttered Gmail search results.

Command+k: A smarter way to find and navigate to your information in Streak

With Streak installed in your Gmail inbox, pressing Command + k on a Mac or Control + k on Windows opens the command palette. From there, you can quickly search for pipelines, saved views, contacts, deals, and more.

It’s a simple way to jump directly to what you need without digging through your inbox or pipelines.

Filter your results

The command palette lets you filter results by category, so you’re always just a few keystrokes away from the information you need. Filters include:

  • All: All search result types are displayed here.
  • Items: Streak results including boxes, pipelines, saved views, contacts, and organizations
  • Actions: Create a box, go to your Streak settings or team page.
  • Recents: Your most recently viewed items.
  • Help: Quick access to top articles and tutorial videos.

Switch between these filters using the Tab key.

Easily access recent work

If you’re jumping back and forth between deals or revisiting something you’ve been working on, Recents can help you pick up right where you left off and continue your work.

Your three most recently viewed pages are displayed when you open the command palette, before you even type a search query.

A software interface displaying a search result list with names and emails. Joelle Rivera, marked as "Qualified," is highlighted. Options to contact or view details are shown alongside each name. A search bar at the top contains the text "jo.

When you start typing, the command palette surfaces recently viewed matches at the top of your results, helping you quickly find information you work with frequently.

A management dashboard with tabs for different status categories. Items listed include "hot leads," "Wilde's Tavern," and more. Some entries are marked "Contacted." Options like "Save" and "Box" are available for each entry.

Can’t remember the name of a contact or deal you worked with yesterday? The Recents filter shows a list of boxes, pipelines, saved views, contacts, and organizations you’ve recently viewed.

Helpful empty states

Even when you’re not sure what to search for, the command palette points you in the right direction.

When you open the command palette without a search query, it’s not just a blank screen. Each filter has an empty state designed to guide you:

  • All: Displays your most recent search queries, action shortcuts, and help information.
  • Items: Surfaces recently viewed items.
  • Actions: Lists commonly used actions.
  • Recent: Shows the most recent boxes, contacts, or pipelines you’ve visited.
  • Help: Offers video tutorials to help you get started or solve a problem.
